Engagements for 2010
2010 will see us at many of the old venues revisited, the ones which have been confirmed at this moment are... Sunday 23rd May, Parliament Hill Fields Bandstand - 3.00 to 5.00 This is our first engagement of the year, playing for the City of London at this popular park. Join us on the park and bring a picnic to hear the band welcome in the long-awaited summer sun - we hope! For your satnav - NW5 1QR To get the map - CLICK HERE Sunday 6th June, Ravenscroft Park, Barnet - Time to be confirmed This was a new engagement last year, and it was a great success in another popular park in another part of the borough. Please do join us here and get another picnic ready to enjoy the outdoor music and relax. Saturday 19th June, RAF Museum, Hendon - 12.30 and 2.30 This is our first engagement of the year at the Hendon RAF Museum, where we will be playing at a special weekend in June. This is a fantastic venue and we've played here for the last few yeasr, with the entire band nestled under the wing of a Wellington Bomber. It's a nerve-racking place to play the RAF March but the ambience of the hall, surrounded by aircraft of all shapes and sizes and ages makes the experience unforgettable. if you wish to hear us playing here last year, just CLICK HERE Sunday 27th June, Avenue House, Finchley - 3.00 to 5.00 This is our first ever gig in the attractive gardens which were left to the people of Finchley for their enjoyment by Henry ("Inky") Stephens, the man who formulated the ink used in so many fountain pens. Here you can enjoy the gardens, have a snack and listen to the music. Saturday 3rd July, East Barnet Festival - Time to be announced All the fun of the fair. This local celebration will be enlivened as in previous years with the music of the Barnet Band. Why not come along, enjoy the day and listen to the music? Sunday 11th July, Finchley Nurseries - 2.00 to 4.00 This is our first visit of the season and it is at that time of the year when everything is in bloom at this delightful nursery. Our audience can relax, soak in the ambience and enjoy a cream tea to pass the afternoon away. Sunday 5th September, Finchley Nurseries - 2.00 to 4.00 This is our return visit to this nursery, generally the last outdoor gig of the year but, on this occasion, to be followed by two more concerts. Here we sit amongst the dahlias as the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness creeps into the calendar. Yet more cream teas greet our audience with many returning faces to tell us that our previous visit here must have pleased someone. It's a comfortable place to play, tinged with the feelings that come towards the end of a season. Sunday 12th September, RAF Museum, Hendon - 12.15 to 3.30 This is our second engagement of the year at the Hendon RAF Museum, where we take our place once again nestled safely under the wing of a Wellington Bomber!
